This proposal combines computational neuroscience and group theory to suggest a way forward in particle physics to perhaps find a larger ‘gauge group’ for the Standard Model of physics. The idea is to use a data driven approach to find symmetries that are present between particles contained in data generated from e.g. particle accelerators.
